This area of hi-tech companies is located in the southern part of the San
Francisco Bay Area. It consists of several cities and is known world wide
as Silicon Valley. It lies in what was once a rich fruit and vegetable
growing region. Until the early 1960's there were lots of agriculture,
orchards, dairies, wineries and many food-processing industries. The primary
manufacturers in the region were Lockheed and Westinghouse in Sunnyvale,
and the Ford Plant in Milpitas. Industrial production developed significantly
after World War II and growth has since been rapid. There are still manufacturers
of business, electric, food-processing machinery; household goods, aircraft
and motor parts. But the manufacture of computers, computer chips and electronic
items started taking the lead in the 1960's, and software in the 1990's.
The explosive growth of internet related companies in the mid-1990's, brought
a boom to the area, not unlike the California gold rush some 150 years
earlier.

it toned down so as to not scare off the buyer". That is not good.
On the other hand, an inspector who wants repeat business from an Exclusive
Buyer Agent will write up a report that is satisfactory to that agent,
or "find every possible thing wrong with the place". That is good.
