Los Altos is a wonderful community of friendly people and a city with very nice homes. The schools are excellent. The city is located on the western side of Santa Clara County between Cupertino / Sunnyvale in the east and Palo Alto / Mountain View in the north. The western side is known as Los Altos Hills, beyond which are vast stretches of forest and farmlands all the way to the sea. Home values are the highest in the county. Los Altos, and Palo Alto next door, are where many of the Silicon Valley hi-tech executives settled. Many have retired in this friendly city. Like most towns across the country, the old downtown has been preserved. There are numerous shops to browse and lots of free off-street parking. Nearby you will find Foothill College and the Golf and Country Club. Way up in the hills off Skyline Boulevard is located the Rod and Gun Club.
