Notorious because of its civil rights protesters on the campus of the University
of California, our city has mellowed since its wild years in the 60's.
Originally, our university was conceived as a place that would contribute
more to California than gold by promoting intellectual, scientific, moral
and agricultural improvement. While the University exerts a strong influence
on the environment of a section of the city, much of the community is relatively
untouched by it.
The city is diverse, having neighborhoods of many flavors, but most have
a cozy feel. Some are nestled in the hills in the east side. There are
many tree-lined neighborhoods in other parts. It offers a marina, and plenty
of parks and activities.
The Lawrence Hall of Science has been well known for years as an interesting
and informative way to spend time with the family. Shattuck Avenue passes
through the center of the city where you will find several movie theatres
and restaurants and a multitude of businesses. Don't forget the famed Telegraph
Avenue, home to local artisans displays of crafts being sold every day.
There is a dizzying assortment of restaurants offering food from all over
the world and in every price range, from tiny hot dog and pizza places
to fine restaurants. You'll find these establishments all over town.
We are only minutes from San Francisco via the Bay Bridge. The city has
two BART stations. Most neighborhoods are within walking distance of a
business district, and walking is a common method of getting around.
Our community offers homes in a broad price range. If you would like to
explore buying a home here, feel free to contact us and we will be happy
to serve you.
